2008 Addy Awards!

The 2008 Addy Awards were a success! SpinWeb received a Silver award for the Blue Bottle Coffee Shop website I designed. We also received a Gold award and Best of Show for The Midwest Academy of Healing Arts website. This means my website design beat out all of the other flash websites that were entered.
We have also launched a few other websites that I have designed since my last update:
- Henry County Community Foundations - The Community Foundations for Henry County
- ERA Integrity - A real estate website out of New Castle, Indiana
- Wood Truss Systems - Redesigned this industry supplier’s website who specializes in equipment for wood truss’ among other things
- WGE Federal Credit Union - Redesigned this Federal Credit Union’s website which has several branches in Muncie, Indiana No comments
Website Updates
Well, I have been extremely busy lately. I have had no time to update my portfolio. I am getting a lot more work from both SpinWeb and Griffin. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing… Anyway, to give you a quick update.. Here is what I have been working on:
http://www.cookandbelle.com (Full Design and can be updated by Bret & Michelle themselves. Launched July 27, 2007)
http://www.thinkepic.org (DID NOT DO THE DESIGN, but I did do all of the flash for it)
http://www.nadco-inc.com (Did the flash elements for it)
Coming soon:
- Bellevue Children’s Academy website
- Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty, P.C. website
Sorry I don’t have any pretty screenshots and better updates, but I am just to dang busy. When things cool down a bit, I will revise the site.

The Midwest Academy of Healing Arts flash website that I designed has been launched. This is the first full flash website I have done for SpinWeb and hopefully I will be able to do a lot more in the future. There were about 7 different design mock-ups before this final version and I will try to get them up here shortly.

AdFed ECI Website Wins Silver ADDY Award.

The Advertising Federation of East Central Indiana website that I designed won a Silver ADDY Award at the 2007 Award Ceremony. This was the first real custom website that I have designed for SpinWeb and I look forward to winning more awards at the 2008 ceremony.

Sample International: Freedom Demo Website
Sample International is a SpinWeb Demo website that I customized to demo our Freedom Product (I also designed the logo). Freedom is a revolutionary new Content Management System (CMS) that lets the client update basically anything on their website after our design is implemented to it. The client can add or update any page on their site, products, news, photos, blog entries, job openings, newsletters, and more from an easy to use admin area. I would have to say it is most likely the best and most powerful CMS on the market.

AdFed E.C.I. is Live!
The Advertising Federation of East Central Indiana Website is finally live! It has gone through many changes. The header animation looks totally different from when I first designed it and the CSS drop down menu has been eliminated, but I think it still looks pretty good. Check out the final version at:
In other SpinWeb news, the MAX Rocks website went live yesterday as well. I didn’t design the website, but I worked on little things here and there. For example, I created a lot of the banner ads and the contest/request line animation. Check it out:
Since I haven’t posted in a while, I will give you a sneak peak at what Joe’s new Sports Card Checklist site will look like. It is taking me a while because I am doing it as a side project, but hopefully it will be up soon. Like most sites, it will probably look different from what you see here when it is finalized:

AdFed ECI
Well, I completed the main look and layout for this website weeks ago, but Walker Racing was taking up my time. Now, I finally uploaded the main page of the adfed site to the stage server for viewing. For some reason, the middle nav bar isn’t showing up, but that should be fixed shortly.

This is what has been taking up a lot of my time lately. I didn’t design the site, but I did put it together. I made the nifty CSS nav at the top and spliced up the images and layed everything out.
One site that I did design though that will be available for viewing soon is the AdFed ECI website. I’ll keep you posted on that.. it’s looking pretty cool so far.
As for mudpuddlz.com and specializedcomposition.com. I believe they are pretty much finalized now.
Also, I bought ifake.net. I am not going to reveal what it is about yet so no one steals my ideas, but I hope it will be cool. If I ever have any time to work on it.. I will try to get it up soon… well.. soonish.
Overall, I plan to have a network going in the future. Here are my plans:
White Drake Network (www.whitedrake.com)
The General hub for all of the sites on my network. For now, only the blog, the studio, and ifake. In the future, I plan to expand by creating useful and/or entertaining websites to add to the Network.
White Drake Blog (www.whitedrake.com/blog or whitedrake.wordpress.com)
The site you are on right now… but maybe with a bit of a makeover
White Drake Studios (www.whitedrake.com/studios)
The company portion where I can provide my design services. Web Design, Graphic Design, Advertisements, etc…
iFake (ifake.net)
I’ll let you know when the site actually gets going.

Expandable header
Aside from more terrorist airline attacks, today wasn’t all that eventful. The other day I created a header (the thing at the top with the sports equipment) for Joe’s website that you can check out at:
www.sportscardfreaks.com It’s Expandable … ooooooooo!
Other than that, I have been putting the finishing touches on:
Specialized Composition
and
Mud Puddlz
Me, Matt, and the Dan’s went to B-dubs for 50 cent boneless wings… mmmmmmmm

One of the websites that I am currently working on at SpinWeb is Mud Puddlz (a store for baby clothes, toys, gifts, etc.)
The more and more I work on these cart sites, the better I am getting with CSS. I was skeptical about using CSS at first, but I am beginning to realize the great possibilities that can be achieved with it.
